Introduction

The Equipment module in Milexco provides a comprehensive system for managing exercise equipment, including tracking, assignment, maintenance, and storage. This feature enables exercise coordinators to effectively manage all equipment-related aspects of an exercise, from initial allocation to final return.

Equipment Management

The Equipment Management module in Milexco provides comprehensive tools for tracking, managing, and maintaining equipment throughout military exercises. This guide covers the key features and workflows for equipment management.

Equipment Status and Condition

Statuses

Equipment can be in one of the following statuses:

  • Fully Mission Capable: Equipment is operational and can perform all intended functions
  • Partially Mission Capable: Equipment can perform some but not all intended functions
  • Non Mission Capable: Equipment cannot perform any of its intended functions
  • In Maintenance: Equipment is currently undergoing repairs or scheduled service
  • Awaiting Parts: Equipment cannot be repaired due to missing components
  • In Transit: Equipment is being transported between locations
  • In Storage: Equipment is properly preserved and maintained while not in use
  • Training Use Only: Equipment is designated for training purposes only
  • Reserved: Equipment is allocated for a future mission or purpose
  • Deployed: Equipment is currently in use for operational mission

Conditions

Equipment conditions are tracked to assess their operational readiness:

  • Good: Equipment has normal wear but is well-maintained and reliable
  • Fair: Equipment shows noticeable wear but functions adequately
  • Poor: Equipment has significant wear and may have reliability issues
  • Out of Service: Equipment is not operational and requires maintenance

Status Transitions

Equipment status transitions follow specific rules with enhanced validation:

  1. In Storage

    • Can transition to: Fully Mission Capable, Partially Mission Capable, Non Mission Capable, In Maintenance, Awaiting Parts, In Transit, Training Use Only, Reserved, Deployed
    • System validates status changes automatically
    • Status-based tab visibility is enforced
    • Enhanced transition validation

Equipment Assignments

Assigning Equipment

To assign equipment:

  1. Select the equipment from the list
  2. Click "Assign Equipment" from the actions menu
  3. Complete the assignment form:
    • Select Issuing Officer
    • Set Issue Date
    • Choose Recipient
    • Record Initial Condition
    • Add Notes (optional)
  4. Click Save to complete the assignment

Managing Assignments

To manage equipment assignments:

  1. View current assignments in the equipment detail view
  2. Edit assignment details if needed
  3. Track assignment history
  4. Monitor equipment condition during assignment

Returning Equipment

To return equipment:

  1. Select the assigned equipment
  2. Click "Return Equipment" from the actions menu
  3. Complete the return form:
    • Select Returning Officer
    • Set Return Date
    • Record Final Condition
    • Add Notes (optional)
  4. Click Save to complete the return

Equipment Maintenance

Scheduling Maintenance

To schedule equipment maintenance:

  1. Select the equipment
  2. Click "Schedule Maintenance" from the actions menu
