Exercise Logistics


Introduction

The Exercise Logistics module in Milexco provides a comprehensive system for managing all logistics-related resources during military exercises. This feature enables exercise coordinators to effectively manage venues, transportation, and support services.

Venues

Venues are managed through the Exercise Venues module:

Airports are managed through the Exercise Airports module:

Managing Logistics Resources

Adding Resources

To add a new logistics resource:

  1. Navigate to the appropriate section in the Logistics cluster
  2. Click the Attach button
  3. Complete the required information:
    • Select resource
    • Set availability dates
    • Configure capacity/status
    • Add notes (optional)
  4. Click Save to create the record

Editing Resources

To edit an existing resource:

  1. Locate the resource in the list
  2. Click the edit icon or select "Edit" from the actions menu
  3. Update the necessary information
  4. Click Save to apply changes

Viewing Resources

The logistics dashboard provides several ways to view resources:

  1. List View:

    • Shows resources in a table format
    • Displays key information including name, type, status
    • Supports sorting and filtering
  2. Detail View:

    • Access by clicking on a resource
    • Shows comprehensive information
    • Displays related records and history
  3. Filters and Search:

    • Use the search bar to find resources
    • Apply filters for type, status, etc.
    • Sort by different criteria

Deleting Resources

To delete a resource:

  1. Locate the resource in the list
  2. Click "Delete" from the actions menu
  3. Confirm deletion
    • This performs a soft delete
    • Records can be restored through the "Trashed" filter

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

  1. Resource Already Added

    • Error: "The resource has already been attached to this exercise"
    • Solution: Each resource can only be added once per exercise
  2. Assignment Issues

    • Issue: Cannot assign resource
    • Solution: Verify resource availability and status
  3. Status Updates

    • Issue: Status not changing
    • Solution: Verify all requirements are met
  4. Data Access

    • Issue: Cannot view resource details
    • Solution: Check user permissions and exercise access
